Welcome
Hello!
I’m Maureen, and I go by Maux. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), and Death Doula. I support people in navigating change, grief, and uncertainty.
I believe silence can be sacred and laughter can be healing. I’d love to support you on your journey.
I am a relational therapist who works primarily with folks navigating trauma, life transitions, grief, and loss. I work with diverse clients, many of whom identify as neurodivergent, creative, queer, entrepreneurs, students, and professionals who are navigating the challenges that life can bring. I have advanced training in Somatic Experiencing, a trauma therapy that equips us to work with the nervous system and the impacts of trauma. I am a queer, white, cis-gender woman, and I strive to work in a client-centred, anti-oppressive, and neuro-affirming way.
The most important indicator of our success together is the therapeutic alliance. I work in a holistic, integrative way, weaving strategies from polyvagal theory, design thinking, change theory, coaching, art therapy & narrative therapy. I am client-centred, walking alongside clients in ways that support ease, autonomy, connection, and healing.
I welcome new clients to book a free 20-minute consultation to see if my style and approach are a good fit for you.
Trauma-informed Grief Care
As a trauma-informed Death Doula, I am honoured to hold space for conversations about death, grief, and the full experience of being mortal.
As a counsellor and coach, I weave together skills and strategies from polyvagal theory, art therapy, design thinking, change management, and organizational development to help my clients access their inner wisdom and resilience during challenging times.
I work in a client-centered way with the intention to walk alongside clients in a way that supports ease, autonomy, connection, and love.
I serve clients across British Columbia from my practice in Vancouver, BC.
“Maux creates a container that is warm, friendly, and safe for introspection and healing. I am forever grateful for the space she holds for me.”
